A few weeks ago, we shot the video for Arcane Roots' newest single 'If Nothing Breaks, Nothing Moves'. Over the two day shoot, we split our time between the water tank and a warehouse space, following the treatment that Andrew had written. We spent the majority of our time at the warehouse space for the main shots, and managed to wrap all of the water tank scenes in half a day.
For the underwater scenes, we were looking to film from outside the tank to keep underwater gear costs/risks down, yet still achieve an intimate, deep water experience. We had to be fairly creative with some of the angles, due to the shape of the tank, but we still managed to capture the effect desired for the treatment, including a lot of great textures and light movement within the water.
For Day 2, the location was a bit more complicated, involving some set building and having to create a variety of different lighting scenes in one space. The set was lit using a Kino Flo Diva-Lite, a Dedo DLHW, an Arri 800W and a set of stage blinders.
For the filming and photographing side of things, the equipment was as follows:
- The video was shot by Oli Kember on a Sony A7 with a range of Canon EF L lenses
- Carla filmed and photographed on a Nikon D750 DSLR using a 60mm f2.8 lens and a 24-70mm f2.8 lens
- Sophia filmed and photographed on a Canon 5D Mk III usng a 50mm f1.8 lens

We'd like to say a massive thank you to Oli Kember, Emma Trachtenberg (hair and make up) and Daryl Atkins for their skills and help before, during and after the project, and another huge thank you also to Sol at Rewind for letting us post-produce in his wonderful studio. We could not have done it without you all!
